The standards of beauty have been varying from time to time. The definition of the word ‘beauty’ has totally changed and so have the standards thereof. Many attempts have been made to understand and analyze that what actually modern standards of beauty are. The hunger of becoming more beautiful is having a negative impact on the health of numerous women. The women in their urge to become more beautiful often compromise on their health due to improper diet which is why they often fall prey to various eating disorders.
The past experiences have proved that women can go to extreme extent in their desire to look good or what they call “beautiful”. All this is unfortunately done at the expense of their health. Women have fetish for clothes and accessories which often turn into an obsession for them in order to stand out from the crowd. The accessories are generally not very comfortable and the clothes that are presently worn are also very tight and hideous. If women feel that even the tight corsets and uncomfortable shoes are not being able to do the magic, they go in for plastic surgeries to get their “face lift” or enhance their beauty. All over the world, efforts are being made to make women understand that there is no point in harming one’s own body in order to look beautiful or elegant. There are no standard parameters that have been set which can define the beauty of a woman.
Since the ancestral times, the women have been known as the fairer sex, which is why it is the innate quality of a woman to look beautiful. There are certain set of characteristics that have been laid for the different sex. The men need to be strong, robust and of the capability to help and protect their women from any kind of problem or danger. On the other hand, the fairer sex is supposed to be physically attractive with a mesmerizing beauty and charm. The attraction between both the sexes is the law of nature which becomes possible only if both males and females have the desired traits.

It is an inevitable fact that given a choice, men will always prefer younger and more attractive women over not so good looking women. This is one of the primary reasons that account for crazy obsession of women for their looks. They want to look pretty and stunning in order to get noticed and loved. With growing age and fading looks of women, men start losing interest in them which shatters their self confidence and make them panicky about their appearance. The face also plays a very crucial role in deciding whether the woman is good looking or not. It has been researched that the men are fond of symmetrical facial appearance. Also, women with blemishes or marks are not even noticed by men. Smoothness of skin, clear face and absence of scars or marks are some of the parameters on the basis of which women have been judged since time immemorial (which is quite a sorry situation!).
